Frequently Asked Questions about BALM

Question:  I just received my BALM, and instead of being creamy like my last order, the oil has separated.  Why did this happen and what should I do?

Answer:  We hear this sometimes in the hot days of summer, especially when parcels are left in the sun.  BALM is made up exclusively of natural ingredients that are good for your skin, scalp and hair.  Our revolutionary tincture preservative system allows us to offer a product without the harsh chemical preservatives you find in so many products.  Similarly, we don’t add the plastic-based, synthetic chemical binding ingredients found in most products that keep creams from separating in high heat, due to plastics’ high melt point.  Because of this farm-to-bottle approach, BALM is as natural as it gets, thus in hot weather and direct sunlight, it can liquify and separate.  All the good stuff is still in there, it just looks and feels a bit different than intended.  Natural ingredients and purest products have some realities, and this is one of them. We suggest closing the jar tight and shaking it vigorously to re-mix.  That’s what we do.  If that’s not a good enough reason or solution for you, please let us know and we will refund your purchase.
